The Witch’s Broom. Notes from a nearby board: “The green ‘necklace’ around this Douglas Fir is called a ‘Witch’s Broom’ – a phenomenon that can occur on any evergreen or woody plant. Highly prized by Bonsai enthusiasts, they can be collected, rooted and grown as Bonsai specimens.”
